About
Set in one of Bristol's most spectacular landmark buildings on the historic harbourside near Queen Square, The Granary is a Grade II* listed grain store from 1869 and the finest example of Bristol Byzantine architecture.
Its real fame lies in the vaulted cellar: from 1968 to 1988 this was The Granary Club, a legendary rock venue where over 1,500 bands played, including Thin Lizzy, Dire Straits and AC/DC, and where Del Boy famously fell through the bar in Only Fools and Horses.
Today the two venues let visitors experience the whole journey under one historic roof: a vibrant all-day restaurant serving bold, fire-cooked dishes inspired by Persian and Mediterranean flavours, sourced within a 30-mile radius, flowing into The Granary Club below for late-night cocktails, music and dancing.
The food has earned wide acclaim, featuring in The Telegraph's top Bristol restaurants, Condé Nast Traveller's top 16, the Times' top 20 things to do in Bristol, and as a Bristol Life Awards 2025 Best Restaurant finalist.
History, architecture, rock'n'roll legend and exceptional food, all in one iconic Bristol destination just minutes from Temple Meads.

Product development and partnerships
The Granary actively collaborates with local businesses and cultural partners to build joint packages and itineraries, exactly the kind of ready-made building blocks that work well for groups and FAM trips. Potential partners include:
- Bristol Hippodrome and Bristol Old Vic, ideal for pre- or post-show dining packages, pairing a meal with us alongside a night at two of the city's flagship venues.
- Only Fools and Horses tours and other guided experiences add a comedy or themed angle to a wider Bristol itinerary.
- Bristol Packet Boats for harbour cruises, easily woven into a day on the waterfront.
- The Bristol Hotel, a natural overnight pairing for residential groups and multi-day trips.
- Sister venues: The Gaffe, Dareshack and Harbour House let us build multi-stop food and drink experiences across the city under one point of contact.
Together, you can build a complete cultural, culinary and waterfront itinerary that complements The Granary as an anchor venue.
