If you’re looking for a peaceful, charming, Cotswolds-style market town without the crowds – visit Corsham, one of Conde Nast Traveller’s Best Places to Visit in the UK 2026.  

Stroll along the heritage High Street and feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Corsham’s honey-coloured Georgian buildings and classic English charm have seen it featured as one of the prettiest UK high streets by the Telegraph, as well as a location in BBC drama Poldark and Disney’s smash hit Rivals. You may even encounter one of the town’s famous resident peacocks!  

Just a short walk away is the highlight of the town’s architectural treasures, Elizabethan manor house Corsham Court. View the estate’s celebrated art collection in the 72-foot picture gallery, designed by Capability Brown, before taking a stroll in the gardens and grounds he also designed.

• Easy access to the popular destinations of Lacock and Castle Combe both within a 10-mile radius, as well as Junction 17 of the M4, Corsham is a fantastic addition to any Wiltshire or Cotswolds trip.  
• Corsham also has excellent proximity to Bath, with the tourist hotspot only 40 minutes’ drive away and easily accessible via the regular 231/X31 bus service. 
• There are two hours free parking in the town’s car parks, making it a great stop for refreshments, a stroll along the High Street and a chance to pick up some quirky holiday souvenirs and gifts.

• Coach drop off point along Newlands Road in the town centre. Coach parking by prior arrangement at Springfield Community Campus. Contact the Town Council for more information. 
• Visits to Corsham Court and Corsham Almshouses need to be arranged separately.  
• Not suitable for large groups over 80 visitors, due to the size of the town centre.
