Cave and a Cake: Available to coach tours with limited time: If you are only making a brief stop, around 1.5 hours, in Cheddar Gorge and are on a coach tour, you can purchase our Cave and a Cake ticket, providing access to Gough’s Cave and a voucher for a hot drink and piece of cake in Gough’s Cafe. This offer can only be booked through Guest Services via email. 

Group Day Ticket: Our Day Ticket provides access for 3 hours and gives access to these great attractions: 

  1. Gough’s Cave: Prepare to be amazed by the stunning show cave featuring spectacular stalagmite and stalactite formations. See cheddar cheese maturing in the caves, view the site where Cheddar Man’s 10,000-year-old skeleton was discovered and learn about the extraordinary DNA discovery. Audio Guides available in English, Polish, Ukrainian, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, and Russian. Plus a Children’s version for our younger explorers. 

  1. Beyond the View: This fully accessible cinematic experience showcases breathtaking aerial views of the gorge. Discover historic tales and learn about the special wildlife and plants that call the gorge home.  

  1. Museum of Prehistory: The museum exhibits years of excavation findings, displaying how they fit into the global history of our species. Explore the enlightening and intriguing history of our kind. 

  1. Cox’s Cave featuring Yeo’s Journey: The Power of Water, a spectacular multimedia experience tells the captivating story of how the iconic caves were formed. Brought to life using state- of-the-art technology projected against the cave chamber walls.  

  1.  Jacob’s Ladder: Ascend the 274 steps of Jacob’s Ladder, with several platforms to view the surrounding wildlife.  

  1. Lookout Tower: Marvel at the stunning views of the gorge and gaze out across the Somerset Levels.  

  1. Access to the Cliff-Top: Walk The top of Britain’s highest inland gorge is the setting of a dramatic and exhilarating view, along with a three mile countryside walk culminating in a ‘top of the world’ feeling. Please add an additional 3 hours if group wants to do the full Cliff-Top Walk. 

  2. Rocksport Activities: Imagine climbing the gorge rockface in the shadow of the 450ft cliffs, caving deep underground or taking part in our exhilarating Blackcat freefall in Gough’s Cave. Suitable for all abilities. Sessions available for adults and children aged 8 years and over. Group rates available.

If your group is between 15 – 32 people, you can book online at cheddargorge.co.uk/groups. For bigger groups, contact Guest Services or visit the website.
